This poker game is a private, social gathering held in compliance with New Jersey’s social gambling laws. All players participate on equal terms, and no one, including the host, profits from the game itself. The dues or amenity fees collected are solely for covering the costs of food, beverages, utilities, and other expenses related to hosting the event.
The host does not take any part of the winnings, nor is any fee charged for participating in the poker game. All funds collected go directly toward the costs of hosting the event, and detailed records of these expenses are maintained for transparency.
By participating, all players agree to these terms and acknowledge that this event is a private, non-commercial gathering.
Only the chips that are on the table at the start of the hand are in play. You may not add or remove chips during a hand once betting has begun.
Any chip that crosses the table’s edge (or “line”) is considered part of your wager. Even if it lands away from your stack, it remains valid.
Placing a single chip forward is treated as a call, regardless of the bet size. Player must clearly announce the raise verbally There’s no “minimum call” beyond that chip being in play.
All bets and raises must be made clearly and in one continuous motion. A raise must be at least as large as the previous bet or raise.
Chips must be placed as a single, uninterrupted action. Adding chips incrementally (or “string betting”) is not allowed.
Players must act only when it is their turn. Actions taken out of turn may be ruled invalid if challenged immediately.
At showdown, the cards shown determine your hand regardless of any verbal description. Verbal declarations (except for clear betting actions) do not override the cards.
When a player goes all-in, they can only win from each opponent the amount equivalent to their own wager. Extra chips wagered by other players form side pots, which are contested only by those contributing.
At showdown, all remaining players must expose their cards for an accurate determination of the winner. Cards should be turned face-up as instructed by the dealer.
The dealer (or tournament director/floor manager) has the final say on all procedural matters and disputes. Their ruling is binding once made.
Players must keep their cards visible and secure (often “on the table” or in a designated area) to avoid any possibility of cheating or accidental exposure. Any interference with a player’s hand is strictly prohibited.
Players must not cooperate with one another or engage in any tactics intended to mislead, manipulate, or gain an unfair advantage. Any such behavior is subject to penalties.
You are expected to act within a reasonable timeframe during your turn. Unnecessary delays can result in a forced action or penalty.
In the event of a misdeal (e.g., exposed cards, dealer mistakes), specific procedures—set by the tournament or house—are followed. These procedures are designed to maintain fairness.
The rules for betting (No-Limit, Limit, or Pot-Limit) are predetermined and must be followed throughout the game. Ensure you’re aware of which structure is in use before playing.
Chips are recognized by their color or markings, which denote their value. Disputes over chip values are resolved by tournament officials.
Good sportsmanship is required at all times. Disruptive or unsportsmanlike behavior can lead to penalties or expulsion from the table.
Use of cell phones, computers, or other electronic devices is generally restricted during play to avoid distractions or potential cheating.
Possession of a Bounty Chip is a prerequisite for tournament play. Players must have a Bounty Chip to buy any add-ons. Bounty Chips can only be obtained through an initial buy-in or through rebuying into the tournament. They are not distributed with add-ons.
The champion of tonight's tournament is obligated to commission (meaning to pay someone else to prepare it), exhibit, capture a photograph, and distribute a picture of an egg sandwich. Following this, the victor must partake in eating the aforementioned breakfast sandwich
